Are you kidding? Lots of Labs are unstable and wild? I've never heard that in my life. It's easy to find out if you're going to get a great one or a "lousy" (even though I don't think any dogs are lousy - there's only lousy owners) one. All you have to do is walk by the cages in the shelter. Don't get one that's barking and jumping all around crazy. This goes for all breeds - not just Labs. Get one that's sitting there pawing at their cage or trying to kiss you through the metal bars.
