Was this posted in the paper? Free Yorkie? OMG - scary.
My guess without knowing anything is that they could not house train the dog, which is probably the number one reason people give up their Yorkies but these are the questions:
1. Why are you giving up the dog?
2. Do you have any medical papers on the dog?
3. How is the dog around children?
4. Is the dog house trained?
5. Why are you giving up the dog?
6. How is the dog around other dogs?
7. How old is the dog?
8. Is the dog neutered?
9. How is the dog with grooming?
10. Why are you giving up the dog?
The reason I kept putting in the question "Why are you giving up the dog" is to see if they change their answer as the discussion goes along.
I have to tell you that anyone who would offer a free Yorkie does not have the best interest of the dog in mind. Someone could come along and get the dog and use it as bait in dog fighting
I am not sure if I would trust any of their answers. If this dog is not for you then you might want to encourage them to turn the dog over to Yorkie Rescue so the animal will be well taken care of. Maybe they don't understand just what could happen to the dog.
P.S. A puppy might develope health issues down the road also.
Good Luck.
