here it is in case you missed the other one...

umbilical hernias can happen when the mom tugs on the chords too much or too hard. It happens and is not hereditary. NOW, abdominal hernias ARE hereditary and should NOT be bred. But you can tell the difference when you go look. Ask to see the surgery scar. If it's by the belly button, then you should be safe. But, if in doubt, call your vet and ask them. Best of luck!
