The Vet will usually prescribe it for 6-8 wks, and then they'll grow out another culture to confirm it's gone.
Just to reassure you a little...Marcel caught ringworm from his old vet, and we didn't confine him...none of us (humans or fur babies) caught it. It's probably best to confine, but I just couldn't deal with it.
