Fido wears harnesses in walks, I use a boett tracking harness on Fido, a Rogz harness and TopPaws harness the TopPaws harness is more loose on the neck area than the others.
Fido once got out of his harness, but that was cause I weren't watching him well, and I pulled to much at the harness ( I never pull Fido, I encourage him to come to me or stop and go to him).
I dont like the harnesses which are like T shirts (Puppia for example), I dont trust them :/ they dont look strong, but ive never tried them so i dont know much about them, its propably OK for a small yorkie under 3 kilos, but for my Fido I only use strong harnesses (leather or thick nylon) cause he will break it otherwise.
Jackson is 16lbs and the Puppia's have always done him well. I mean, he's not really a puller but there have been times where he has lunged at a squirrel and it's never seemed like it wasn't strong enough. I think they are really durable and strong.

However, that was a big dog and pulls harder so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. So I found a local boutique that sells both Buddy Belt and Chokefree and went there to try them. I fell in love with the soft leather of the chokefree.

I really kind of want to give these a try again.... I love the look of them and I ordered one for Jackson but I think it may have been just a TAD too small. It seemed too 'tight' or uncomfortable for my liking. But maybe I didn't give it enough days for the leather to soften and I think I need a half size bigger.

I want something that is washable, safe, and if at all possible non-irritating for my little man. Is that too much to ask?

I hear ya! I love the IDEA of leather... but anytime I get something leather for Jackson, I end up not putting it on him. It never seems comfortable enough for him. I think I'm so used to the Puppia's which are super comfy, at least they seem like it. That's the main reason I stick with Puppia's.

I do have 2 harnesses from chattiesmom and they are very nice! They don't seem to bother him and seem pretty strong. I have no complaints, very nicely made products. My only issue was I got a red one last year and he's constantly in the water and outdoors, and the red color got wet and bled onto his hair. He had some red staining on his hair, LOL!! So I ordered a black one a while back so hopefully that diminishes the problem w/ the color but I haven't used it yet. Great customer service though, a little rip was in Jackson's 1st harness from her and she fixed it right up.
