if they are way down and not up yet I would suggest doing the whole ear inside and out the best you can. Shave like Villette said and shave it bald as you can. Be careful of edges. It's better if you are nervous to strt in he middle of ear and swoop out to make sure you don't nip edges. if you take the ear between your fingers and use your finger nails to guard the edge you can use saftey rounded baby scissors to trim close around the edges. It is also good to be near bright light aNd YOU CAN SEE THE EDGES BETTER.
Also you might want to tape them. get some medical tape from the drug store for this. You hold the ear flat and up and tape around each ear flat , then you connect them TOGETHER to pull them UP straight by taping them together so it looks like ou have a bar between the ears. THIS WORKS BEST using medical tape that won't pull the hair to much and SHAVING as much of the hair off before hand as possible.
OH... some people fold the ears in half like an upright sandwich first before wrapping but it is a matter of preference it seems.
