Jumping Cholla, also known as the Cylindropuntia fulgida. Carlo picked up 100's of them, and then they transfered to me before I realized what was happening on a walk while in AZ. We had to walk back 4 miles and he had them all over, not sure how he made it. Vet had to knock him out, and work on him for 3 hours to remove all of them, even got into his mouth. Just pulling them out of my hands felt worse than pulling out a fish hook. We learned where not to walk and what to avoid after that. |
