Is this normal for a shih tzu? and does anyone have an idea of how big he will get? He is soooo playful and soooo fiesty =) LOL

any info will help.

thank you =)
I have an almost 5 month old malti-tzu. I figured because she was half maltese she'd be smaller but she is 9lbs @ 5 months already. There is tons of info on the web about shih tzus. Even the breed standard weight range is pretty wide so they come in a variety of sizes. Looks like yours is on the smaller side of the weight range.

I find that compared to my yorkie, my malti-tzu is lazier, more of a lap dog, and will overeat and make herself sick if allowed to free feed.

There are shih tzu forums out there as well.
