I think he is still young. Give it time and be consistent. Working outside on the training on a lead is a great idea!!
The clicker worked wonders for me with my two other dogs and it has saved their lives I think. When they have gotten out of the yard and we didn't discover they were "on an adventure" for quite a while, we get in the car and drive around with the clickers out the window. They hear that from really far away and they come running!! it's like Pavlov's dog. The programming is engrained and they HAVE to respond. You have to always have that treat ready!! |
