You can find higher quality foods that don't cost that much more to feed than the lower quality foods.
Many chain pet stores now carry good quality food... PetCo for example carries Natural Balance, Merrick, and Wellness which are all very good foods. I think you should find a store near you and go in and see what they carry and how much it costs.
