I live in the NYC area and honestly have no clue as to how i can go about finding someone who has a female and that wants to breed responsibly. It's not about the money or anything like that, but id like to keep his family tree alive and have a puppy for my kids (in the future).

Can anyone recommend anything or point me in the right direction? I just want to find someone that is responsible and is looking to do the same for their female yorkie.

Please understand that most serious breeders reputable breeders have their own studs and do not use outside stud.

That being said, there is much responsibility to being a stud owner. As the stud owner it's not just providing sperm. You must insure that your boy is the best speciman of the breed possible. He must have all required tests performed on him to insure he does not have any of the afflictions that plague this breed.

In addition, you must be prepared on how to care for a female that is in Season, as she'll be left at your house to conduct the breeding. And yes, you will conduct the breeding (hands on). The breeding pair must not be left to conduct the deed on their own, that can result in injury to both. At at the worst could render dog's male parts to be severly injured.

You must be knowledgable in whelping a litter, as the owner of the female may require assistance.

There are other things that you will be responsible for: Are you prepared to take any pups that the owner of the female cannot place. Are you prepared to take back any pups that have been placed and the owners can no longer keep.......

So much responsibility....it's not about putting 2 dogs together.

You're boy being 5 years of age for his first breeding, I would have his sperm count tested. A boy is usually proven by 2 years of age....

Let me add procurring is against YT rules.
