due to the cold weather i had decided to use the second nature {dog litter box}. i would take him outside and he did fine in the warm weather, but as soon as it got cold all he would do is stand by the door and shake. now he hasn't messed in his crate at night unless i sleep in too late to let him out. he doesn't bark or cry , but will go pee in the litter as soon as i put him down in it. as for number 2 well i guess there isn't enough room for him to walk in circles to find the right spot. it usually ends up on the floor within a foot of the box. he too is excited when i praise him for going potty in the box, when i catch him squatting on the floor i try to sound mad and say no! which usually stops him mid way though, but not usually in time to move to the box. we will keep trying and hopfully he will catch on. i do worry because some people tell me it is the breed and they have a hard time with housebreaking.
