I live in the NYC area and honestly have no clue as to how i can go about finding someone who has a female and that wants to breed responsibly. It's not about the money or anything like that, but id like to keep his family tree alive and have a puppy for my kids (in the future).
Can anyone recommend anything or point me in the right direction? I just want to find someone that is responsible and is looking to do the same for their female yorkie. |
Maybe if you haven't looked at the stickies on breeding, and some of the threads about breeding, and the challenges, problems, and concerns of inexperienced breeders, you should take the time to do that.
Five years old is on the older side for a dog that has not been bred before. Have you talked to your vet about your plan. Do you know the health history of his lineage, and the other pups in his litter? It is often more a question of "should he" be bred, rather that can he be bred.
Maybe you can go back to his breeder, and see if they have pups that are related to him. That would be a whole lot easier, much less costly, and ultimately a lot easier on you.
