I just wanted to ask everyone to please excuse me if I sound overly sentimental or off this week. This is always an emotional time for me. I was adopted at birth almost 42 years ago. I was born on Feb 11 and on Feb 14 (Valentine's Day) my adopted parents took me to their home. Almost every Valentines Day my mom and I call each other and she wishes me a Happy Birthday and recounts my first car ride. We usually cry but it is a good cry. Since she has been diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer, that day is even more emotional. I am so very thankful to God that he has given me such a loving and caring mom and so much time with her as well.
If your parents are still on this earth make sure you call them at least once a week. It really does mean a lot to them. Even if they wont tell you it does. |
awww I'm sorry this week is a hard one for you....and REALLY sorry about your mom having cancer....Your post touched my heart....(calling my mom right now) Hoping your week is a happy one!
