I would walk her each time after she eats until she poops....my yorkie like to go in the woods...so open space might not work for her even tho the living room sounds like her favorite spot.
Get rid of the quilt or bedding she poops on bc it smells like her already and will remind her that's where she goes. I would also keep her off the furniture. Until she learns where to go she probably doesn't need to be up there....if she stays in your lap until she goes....then when she moves off your lap pick her up and put her out.
