Honestly if I didn't have my dogs I would have said yes your overreacting. Now that I consider my dogs my family is a different story. I would calmly explain to her why you don't approve of that. Or simply say I'm not comfortable with that but you appreciate her nice comments.
We need more nice people in this world.
