How old is Jett? Puppies learn pretty quick that if they cry and holler they will get attention. You are wise to keep him in a safe area when you are not able to watch him. It will just take time for him to adjust. Would it be possible to put a gate across the steps? I worry so much about pups because when they are little they get so brave. I have steps for my yorkies so they can easily get on the couch and bed but when I have young pups running around I have to move the steps otherwise they learn to get on the furniture before they are really ready. Pups can get hurt so easily falling off furniture. Hopefully Jett won't be a climber. Some pups learn at a young age how to climb out of x-pens and that can be dangerous too. It sure is a lot of work just trying to keep our babies safe.
