I have never heard of giving Benadryl to a nervous dog before, I thought they were just for allergies? but im not sure.
Have you discussed how nervous your dog is with your groomer? she will be used to dealing with nervous dogs every day and will know how to handle them.
I would discuss it with your groomer and also mention the Benadryl. If she agrees to the Benadryl I would then call the vet and ask how much you should give.
