Growing up I had Westies, three of them, and they are great dogs. They were so smart and playful. My husband and I also had adopted a daschund when we were first married, he was a great little dog, but a biter. So that always kind of worried me about him. I don't really know what his past was. He was actually hit by a car and after that we were pretty heartbroken and dog-less for several years.
When I bought Ruby I knew I wanted another terrier, and considered another Westie. But then decided I wanted a smaller dog that I could carry around with me.
So that's what led me to a yorkie. And she just stole our hearts.
We also have an adopted GSD/rott mix (we are big believers in adoption) he was primarily adopted to be a guard dog (our neighborhood can be sketchy) and he's great in his own way. His GSD really comes out in traiinig. We only have to show/tell him a few times and he gets it. He has a very calm tempermant and lets Ruby jump around all over him. when he's had enough he goes to his room (my son's room) and Ruby knows he's had his fill of her. |
