I understand your fear....I raised orphaned wildlife for 35 years, and I had to remain with them during any visits with the Vet.

Is there any way that your Vet will allow you to remain with Matty until he is sedated? And then, be there when he is in recovery?

Mine has allowed me to remain, knowing the risk of what fear can do to an animal.

I would think the Vet would make an exception in Matty's case, since he is not what we would consider a domesticated dog.

You know, I believe they do understand what we say.

My Sydney is almost 15, and she was diagnosed with CRF in Oct.-we opted to go forward with her dental, as I believed, (and rightly so) that my girl still has plenty of time left, and the morning of her dental, I had a talk with her, and I explained to her that she mustn't think of staying asleep. And that we would go camping as soon as she was awake.

Well, DH & I picked her up, shortly after she awoke, and took her immediately to our local State Park, where DH had taken our travel trailer up in the morning, and you know, she remembered we were going camping.

I carried her from the car, to our travel trailer, and she lifted her little head from my chest, looked around and then straight into my eyes, as if she was saying, "You promised & we're camping!"

Please ask your Vet. The worst he can say is "No".

We have mass in the morning and we will offer Matty up.
