Yes, always test for Brucellosis. My vet has me test any new dog that I get and then repeat the test in 30 days to be sure because he says there can be a few days lag time between exposure and infection. Brucellosis is passed in infected blood and body fluids so it is possible to be exposed even if the dog has never been bred.
