I can imagine how frustrating it was to be snowed in, especially with no access to the internet. It's amazing how much we have come to rely on the internet, not only for entertainment.
When I lived in the Chicago area (Park Ridge), I was thankful on really bad snow days that we had just about everything within walking distance.
