When we first went to the vet he indicated that a c-section was probably going to be needed. She is a tiny framed girl. When we went on Friday, the vet said that I am to call as soon as labor begins and if she gets a puppy out before he does the c-section than that was alright. Today he said the same thing except he said if she has 1 with no problems then he may let her try to deliver the rest but we would still go to his office depending on when it is. I honestly don't know at this point what he will do. Since I have no history with her the safest route will be the one that I take. My concern is her safety and a pup getting stuck. That is why I was asking for a 2nd xray. She will be spayed when this is all over.
It really sounds like you are doing a great job and have all the bases covered. You just have to trust the vet will do what is best for the momma. I have never bred a female under 5 lbs. Whelping pups is scary and worrisome no matter what size the momma is. I pray everything goes well.
