Spartanburg County, S.C. – Religion is near and dear to many people. Some are considered religious fanatics. Last week, 65 year old Miriam Smith punished her nephew’s dog who chewed her bible. She claims that God told her to do so as it was a “devil dog”.

She hung the one year old pit bull from a tree in the yard, doused it with kerosene and set it on fire. When her nephew returned home a few days later, he questioned his aunt as to where Diamond was, she admitted to killing him.

I love when people give religion a bad name! Our world is losing it.
