It took 5 hours to get there after being stuck on the tracks several times. Then when I got to work, no one was there. I called my boss and he said go home. Of course the trains were no longer running. It took until 6pm that night before they could get one train out to go to Indiana. Then it ended up stuck on the tracks as well. I did not make it back to Indiana until 12:30am!! Then after scraping the snow off my car to drive home,.. found out it wasn't MY car after all. Had to scrape until I found the right car. Then I found out I couldn't get on the freeway cause there were tons of abandoned cars on it.. had to BACK down an icy on ramp and try to find my way home. Even tho I was only 2 miles from the train station there were so many blocked off roads it took me another 2 hours getting home! THAT is when I decided that I was coming back to California!! do NOT miss that at all! |
I am taking a short break between heart attacks....have to use a shovel as my large Snow Blower is dead. Only going to do one part of the driveway to just get one SUV out. The Tech is supposed to come tomorrow to repair the snowblower, after he broke the Axel the last time her was here.
Marge is home. Her trip was canceled yesterday. O'Hare is a Ghost town. She has another trip planned next Tues and Wed, and then will be here for Maxine's Surgery on Thrusday.
Really bad here. Still quite windy up by us in the NW burbs.
I know what you mean about getting delayed due to the weather here. I had some 6 hour drives home several times. No fun at all. Wish I was out in the Phoenix area......
