That is so tragic and sad. I know it is so very hard for you (and your family), but please try and find comfort in the fact that you did rescue her and gave her a good life and she got to experience lots and lots of love before she passed. As you said, her spirit is permanently stamped on your heart...you will never forget her. It will take time, but you will find there will come a point where each day will get a little better.
