If it works for them and makes them happy, then I'd say it's fine. My biggest concern is if they were to get a napoleon complex and try to jump out and hurt themselves. I know you said they've been staying put, but you know yorkies and how random and how "tough dog" they can be!
They are really cute in their little bassinet though
