Default Serious or Not?

Isla is 2 1/2 but as the years (all 2, ha!) have gone on she's developed a honking. At first it was more sporadic when she was really excited or twisted her neck a weird way to lick or something. Maybe it happened a couple times a week. Now it's a guarantee several times a day. It doesn't happen when she's running around so much as when we just get home and she's happy/excited to see us. She doesn't have to be doing anything, either, just standing there. And if she turns her neck to reach something she'll do it a lot. Almost every night as she's getting comfy.

I thought it was a reverse sneeze right away but can they do that that much? I don't know what it is, or if it's serious or not. The last time I took her in the vet palpated her trachea and said she had some reaction, but not severe. Although I do think the situation has gotten worse since then. Do trachea problems happen over time or can reverse sneezes persist that often?

Thoughts? BTW, she's not overweight.
