Your Lulu probably doesn't bark for no reason at all. Remember dogs can hear and smell things that our senses don't even pick up.

My dogs used to drive me crazy about 4:30 in the morning. I finally got up one morning and looked out the window and saw, to my surprise, about a dozen deer in my back yard (we live next to a state park and it was still dark out.) My dogs knew the deer were there. I didn't. Apparently deer make noises and communicate with one another with a sound that the human ear can't even pick up. But my dogs heard it.

Also my dog barks at night at the reflections in the glass in the door. He sees movement, but doesn't understand what it is. A lot of it is simply the reflection from the TV or from people moving around in the house. He thinks something is going on outside.

Perhaps you believe in ghosts. I don't.
