Yes, I have a dog with pancreatitis who has had two life threatening acute attacks.
My advice is to listen to your vet's advice and don't take matters into your own hands. Low fat is only one issue in pancreatitis. It is unknown what foods can trigger pancreatitis.....they do know high fat can be an issue, but that is not the only issue with pancreatitis. Also, Pancreatitis can smolder for a very long time. I would do nothing but a bland diet for at least 6 months while the pancreas heals.
Also, pancreatitis gets worse with each attack. So it is important to avoid another attack if you can. Our dog was 5 when he had his first attack and 9.5 when he had his second. The second was worse and his blood work almost 1 year later has still not returned to perfect and he was very sick for months.
Good luck.
