Default I need advice ...so here I am to consult the real experts :):)

My dear little girl, was hospitalized last week for 4 days
with what the vet initially thought was liver shunt after some blood work came back. In the end she was diagnosed
with pancreatitis which baffles me somewhat as she
is on a very healthy diet....from day one.

My vet of 20 years had a heart attack and the new vet at the time of emergency, well....lets just say I am not
so pleased with her.
She said "lets just put her on a low fat high nutrition dog food and see how she makes out".
That is just not good enough for me, as I've
read each flare up, can "kill " part of the pancreas.

This weekend I made food and she has shown tremendous improvement...fortunately she has eaten
fresh fruit and veggies since she came to me...
I made chicken stew with boneless skinless chicken and rice and another with lean, drained ground sirloin. I also should add, that I don't want her to drop any weight.

Is there anyone here who has had a dog with pancreatitis and can offer suggestions?
Maybe she would do better on homemade food.

thank you Y People ....
