ACA was started by commercial dog breeders that were unhappy with AKC for implementing rules about DNA testing and requiring paperwork trails to be correct. Many had been banned from AKC and wanting to still sell their puppies as registered, they started their own for profit registry. AKC is nonprofit and will only register dogs that come from registered AKC parents. You still have to rely on the honesty and vigilance of the breeder when you buy AKC. You probably have a pure bred dog. She looks all yorkie. I think MOST registered dogs are pure bred if that is what they are supposed to be. But the chances of getting a dog that has something els somewhere in their pedigree is much GREATER in the non-AKC registries. Reputable breeders normally ensure all of their dogs are registered with AKC and do not send any money supporting these off-brand registries. There are some beautiful dogs that have been registered with them though. In fact, some of the puppies could have been from AKC parents, but maybe the breeder lost their AKC prviledges for failing DNA tests (in other words the parents listed on papers were NOT the real parents) or for failing inspections on their kennel. It could be that a relatively inexperienced breeder just decided to breed an ACA registered dog. It doesn't mean the dog is not a good one. Yours could be the best pet around, but Iwould NOT send any of your money in to this registry. Just spay your pet and don't worry about the papers unless you can have AKC registration. BTW Isabella is very CUTE!!

Make sure you get her to a vet for her well puppy check up right away. I suggest new owners make an appointment to take the puppy straight to the vet from the breeder's home. Enjoy your new puppy -- so much joy in such a little pup!
