She may never need surgery! My Maxwell who died at a very old age (he was a rescue so age was a guess) had LP all the years I had him (11) and it never got worse and he never needed surgery. I can tell you that Dr. Beale is very conservative about surgery for LP. If it is not causing problems, he does not operate.
He did tell me that a puppy with open growth plates does need surgery for LP.
