I think the dress is beautiful. This is our first year of no prom after 6 consecutive years with at least one going to prom and often two (girls). I think I have seen it all but for the most part, the girls were beautiful in their dresses. Last year, my daughter went conservative, bought a knock off Sherri Hill dress and had my oldest daughter do her hair. Her most expensive item was her shoes and nails. When it was all said and done, she had under 200.00 in her whole look, and she was beautiful. She went with a short dress, so she wanted her shoes to make a statement, and boy did they! It was awesome! Embrace it, I am going to miss the mother-daughter bonding time that came along with prom.
