I have never given permission for my apartment to be entered anywhere I live. I always say I need to be there- if there is something that needs to be fixed and I cannot be home I will have someone I know come sit in my apartment for me. When anyone comes in my house that I don't know I lock the dogs in a room where they won't be seen. A few times they have barked and the workers always say "got a big dog in there, huh?" and I say YES. ha! thankfully my dogs bark like big dogs! I feel that the less people that know I have Yorkies in my house, the better.
