I was also told by an obedience trainer to use a mini pinch collar because Macy would not walk beside me no matter what we did. I asked her breeder, my vet and another trainer and they all said the mini pinch collar would not hurt her if used properly. Even though it was against my better judgement I bought a mini pinch collar and used it on her once under the supervision of the trainer. After one lesson she now walks beside me, not in front of me pulling and tugging. I am still not comfortable with what I did but it worked. The pinch collar has mini prongs on it and doesn't work exactly like the choke collar. We have graduated onto agility now. I know 99.9% of people in this forum are against anything but a harness as I was.
