Gizmo started in a pen, but only during work hours, he would have to be pinned up during 6 am til 6 pm when I first got him 4 years ago, But from 6 pm til 6 am he had the run of the house and slept with hubby and I. On fridays he would drive into work with me and go to daycare near my job so he could run arrands with me thru out the day. All of that was in the first year, I am home everyday now but the first year was tough getting him on a routine. I agree with the other posters, he just needs a little time to get on a routine with his new family. Good luck and welcome to yorkie talk!
