When you bring home a new puppy.....it takes a little while for them to adjust to you, the home etc. Personally I let my babies sleep with me...it nixed the crying and the separation anxiety your puppy is going thru....if that's out of the question...then you could try putting the crate close to your bed....or leave on a light....there might be a few other suggestions but those are the only ones I can think of right this moment..

I don't believe the bath or the reflection is what's causing the issues...Its just separation anxiety. Puppies are used to sleeping with others and being alone can be very hard for them to deal with.

I don't think you should let him eat or drink so late at night though..you might find him needing to go potty very very early in the morning...jmo
