I am so sorry to hear your story, as this should be the happiest time for you.... I used to raise Golden Ret. puppies, even though we would have them completely checked out, we sold one to a young couple without any knowledge of a heart issue..when she contacted us she had already put him on her screen saver, had tons of photos, would phone us with updates etc...so we knew he was loved.. he had an opening in his heart that "could close as he grew older" but no guarentees.. in our contract, we agreed to take back any puppies with health defects. They too, were willing to keep him with his condition, but I felt it only fair to return their money and as long as they agreed to return the puppy to us should they decide the vet bills became to much for his care. I would hope the people you got your baby from decides to do the same, and if I were you, I would ask, and my argument is, you fall in love the moment you get them in your arms, and will love them no matter what and are taking a chance of having a shorter life span with her...
And for the good news after a year they came over with Clancy and he was given a clean bill of health,, the murmer was no longer detected...they offered the money back to us, due to the condition not being there any longer,, as I told them, they were silly,, they took him to a specialily hospital 6 hours from where we lived to have him checked out...there is no dollar amount you can put on a young couple caring that much for their 60lb baby... Clancy is now 11 yrs old....Wishing the best for you and your baby... |
