I was concerned that was going to be the point of your post. My vet and I considered going to a specialist,pulmonary-cardiologist, to do a bronchial wash on my boy, Jesse. After a lot of consideration and discussion, we made the decision that it was more risky than either of us wanted to assume. "It is not too common to do trach. washing except as a last resort" was what conclusion I came to after my research..Of course, you have to trust your vet OR find another one..
