Ice on Ice spray by CC helps with mats..... and it is a "slowly but surely" process!! ..... Also you may consider Biolage Detangling condidtioner. I use it on my 3 and it works wonders on long hair. Shelby has a cottony coat and can get knotted if we miss a day of grooming (try not to let let happen, but once in a blue moon, it does ) Make sure that you stay away from the face with the Biolage.... we use it on body only!!! We use conditioner also.... but nothing works like the detangler for mats & knots!
As far as brushes go, we use CC pin brushes and butter combs, but I am going to be ordering a Madan brush to see how I like them...... have heard good things about them, but can't say until I try one.
