Default confirmed retained placenta..need advice

This is my first post on this website. Breeders please help! I have a female yorkie that delivered her puppies less than 48 hrs ago. She is a large yorkie and had 5 puppies. This is her 3rd litter and has always done well before. This time delivery was more difficult and I lost track of the placentas. Anyway, I went to the vet and he gave her a oxytocin shot about an hour ago. An xray showed possible placenta. He also gave her antibiotic and pain med. So far no placenta.Does anyone have any other advice on getting her to pass this placenta? Do you think the shot will help? Is there anything else I should be doing?
