Okay so it wasn't late night... and even if it was like I said I would have been at an emergency clinic. It was early morning and the vet's office should have been open in a few more hours at that point... WHY was the pup allowed to pass away at 12 NOON???
The OP's first option should have been the emergency clinic, but their second option should have been waiting in the vet's parking lot for them to open FIRST THING in the morning.
