Yes, they can definitely have very different temperaments and personalities. Rio and Bullet are not litter mates but come from the same lines - in human terms, Bullet is Rio's nephew. But they are so opposite in so many ways it still amazes me. Rio is a little diva, only gives affection when she wants on her own time. She doesn't like to snuggle when she sleeps - she needs her space. She's very mellow, is happy in her purse carrier when we go to the mall. Hates car rides (pants and shakes the entire ride). Occasionally plays with her toys but can take em or leave em.
Bullet is a total cuddle bug - prefers to sleep right against me. He is always ready to sit on my lap for a belly rub, loves car rides (usually falls asleep he's so relaxed). He hates going to the mall - feels like he needs to be on alert and protect us, so he doesn't do well inside a purse carrier. He absolutely loves every single toy in our house and will play with all of them until it looks like a tornado sprayed toys all over our house.
So yes, it's perfectly normal to have different personalities. They both possess the Yorkie braveness and tenacity, and have big hearts in their little bodies. But they're their own individuals and I love them equally!
