Ruby was really scratchy when we got her...I used puppy shampoo for the first bath (although she is one, this is what I already had)...she still scratched, so at PetCo I found "Four Paws Hypo Allergenic medicated shampoo for pets with aloe vera & coal tar used by Veterinarians for the relief of dandruff, dermatitis, itching and dry skin." I have used this three times now (weekly bath) and with each washing see a softer coat and much less scratching. The vet said coal tar and oatmeal are essantial ingredients for skin problems. The bottle is ugly (sorry, I'm in advertising so I notice these things)..it is white with a picture of a husky... hope it helps
