It depends on the dog, and the kind of trip. I like to take Jackson w/ me on a lot of our trips but most of our trips are dog friendly and I don't have to leave him in the room/hotel/RV for more than 2hrs. He highly enjoys traveling and seeing new sights, etc, so he's a great traveler. But if he were to be spending most of his time in a hotel room, I think I'd feel more comfortable leaving him at home.
