I have a 8 month old that came f/ a breeder, then to a friend for a week, then on to me. The first couple of weeks he didn't play at all, just slept alot. I have now had him a little over a month, and he has finally gotten comfortable w/ us, and plays with his rope, and a ball that has a string on it, and my old footie. He likes to bite on my hand (doesn't hurt). I have a daycare, and he sometimes plays with the kids, and sometimes he runs to me or his cage to get away when they are a bit overwhelming to him. He is adjusting very well though, and he doesn't like the snow. When it is really cold, he will do what he has to do, and come right in. But if it's nice he likes to take a walk. Good luck, hope it all works out. And with your nephew, just keep an eye on him and make sure he is being nice. I have had to keep an close eye on the kids at my house, just in case.
