Day two using the pheremone diffuser...
Tallulah goes in her pen whenever no one is home to supervise her. In the evening, there is occasionally a gap of up to to an hour between the time my niece brings her home from Yorkie Camp and I get home. When I get home she is usually shrieking like a banshee by the time I get across the house. Then I sit by the bed and we "chat" until she calms down before I get her out of the pen.
Yesterday afternoon when I got home, not a peep. In fact, I was a little worried that something was wrong. Ran across the house, and there she was in her pen, smiling and wagging her tail! What a difference!
Last night bedtime, I reduced the length of snuggle time from an hour (yes, really) to half an hour. She gave a few half-hearted whines when I put her in her pen, but then settled down and went to sleep. She only woke me up once when it was time to use the potty pad... otherwise we had a quiet night. I'm not going to reduce the cuddle time further because I think it's good for both of us, but it's encouraging to think that when I really need to put her in her pen, it might not be so stressful for her.
I think it's too early to declare it a success based on just two nights, but early signs are certainly positive! |
