As to tails and declaws...that is done so young and only causes momentary discomfort. I am just not fond of a tail on a Yorkie and that is purely cosmetic..although they are cleaner and easier to keep clean with a tail covering the back end.JMO..and as to declaws, they can and do get caught in stuff...can be ripped out...but that is no reason to remove them on an adult... don't forget to clip the nail...as a former groomer I have seen them grow into the skin because the owner did not realize they even had them...
What about removing them during a neuter? Our Teddi still has one, I assumed because it was inaccessible at the time the breeder took the other three but our vet tech said that it seems to be attached. We are considering having it removed during his neuter in March. Is this advisable?

Thank you for any help.
