Well I am praying its not bad breeding and just that I'm leaving in too much conditioner. There have been suggestions to dilute it and I use more than a pea sized amount and don't dilute it. Next bath will tell, I guess. Layla's hair is smooth and shiny but yeah it just very stringy because of the oil. It makes her hair stand strait up instead of falling smoothly down. Here's an example:
